Crocs partners with Metro Shoes to expand India presence

Metro Shoes and Crocs have entered a retail partnership that will see the former selling of the latter's products in India. Metro plans to open 100 exclusive outlets of Crocs in the next three years. According to the agreement, Metro Shoes will open 30 EBOs of Crocs footwear across the country in the first year, the company said in a statement. Metro Shoes aims to invest around Rs 40 crores targeting sales of over Rs 100 crores during this three-year period. Metro Shoes has 300 showrooms of its own across India. While the first Crocs EBO was launched in Lucknow and two more are in the pipeline and will open shortly in Thane, Mumbai and Chandigarh.
Crocs launched in India in 2007, also plans to focus on marketing activities like on ground activations and digital marketing and expansion of Stock Keeping Units (SKUs). To change its image as the monsoon brand, Crocs, known for its rubber clogs with holes introduced its 350-odd designs from global portfolio such as lace-up sneakers, hover boats and cobbler stud ankle boots in India last year.
