DLF Brands to open 140 Mothercare stores in five years

DLF Brands, which as of now operates 60 Mothercare stores in India, aims to
increase store-count to 200 over the next five years as a part of its
retail expansion strategy. The British retailer offers products for
children and expectant mothers. The company plans to add around 25 stores
every year across Tier I, II and III cities.
The company has Mothercare stores in 25 cities. DLF operates stores of other foreign brands such as Mango, Forever 21, DKNY, Sunglass Hut and Claire's. The company plans to invest about Rs 200 crores over the next five years to expand the Mothercare network.
The company, which operates nine large format Forever 21 stores, will open the tenth store soon. Plan also includes adding four-five outlets every year to expand the brand presence. The company also has nearly 70 Sunglass Hut stores and aims to open 30 stores every year.
