Leading e-commerce player Flipkart and its associate Myntra have roped in Bangalore-based e-commerce consultancy firm Ace Turtle to launch a host of global fashion brands. Most of the e-commerce platforms are partnering with international fashion labels to woo consumers as well as ramp up their presence in the country.
As a part of the deal, Ace Turtle will bring global labels to sell on Myntra as well as Flipkart while the company itself will manage the standalone Indian e-commerce sites of those foreign brands that come on board through the alliance. The firm currently manages online store for kids' apparel seller Kapkids and is in the process of launching four e-stores for some Indian and foreign brands over the next three months.
Jabong too has signed exclusive deals with global names in fashion such as Dorothy Perkins, River Island and Mango among others, while Myntra has already signed up with labels including Guess, Desigual and Scotch & Soda. Both have also set up an office in the UK. While Jabong has hired global talents from Asos, River Island and from Zara's parent Inditex, while Myntra has hired Italian designer Vanni Lenci to work on some private brands.
