Hidesign looks to expand in the US

Popular leather bags and now shoes manufacturer Hidesign is bullish about expanding in the US market. It hopes to capture the niche segment with its range of women’s and men’s bags. It will make more investments now that it is planning to expand in the US. The company believes it is a good time to expand in the US.

Hidesign lauched operations in the US in 2014 and Vikas Kapur, CEO, Hidesign America says that the US market is gigantic and the company hopes for a niche representation. In the second year of its presence in the US market, the company hopes to double growth. To prepare for its expansion, the company is educating people about the brand. In March it will exhibit at the popular Travel Goods Association trade show in Las Vegas where it will showcase its range of briefcases, messengers, handbags among others. Kapur says that this will be an opportunity to ‘tell your story as there are many brands and products’. The company will be targeting the Indian-American community since they would be familiar with the brand.

Hidesign is based in Pondicherry. It markets competitively priced bags and small leather goods in the US and also sells online as well as through high-end independent stores.
