Lacoste increasing store network in India

French luxury brand Lacoste has drawn an aggressive retail expansion plan and will increase its store count to 90 over next four to five years. The company opened just two stores last fiscal. Along with store expansion, Lacoste would also launch its own e-commerce portal by the end of this year.

Newly opened stores will be a mix of company-owned and franchised stores. The company has 44 stores including one store in Maldives, at present. Lacoste’s product portfolio includes clothing, footwear, leather goods, perfumes, eyewear and watches.

Lacoste India is a strategic alliance between Lacoste and Sports and Leisure Apparel (SLA). The SLA has the exclusive rights to manufacture Lacoste branded garments in India and distribute/market Lacoste branded garments in India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The SLA also has exclusive rights to distribute/ market Lacoste branded footwear in the country and Maldives.
