Lil Tomatoes to add girls’ bottom wear by 2016

The brand plans to expand its product portfolio to include girls’ bottom wear by summer 2016. Lil Tomatoes was set up in 1995 to cater to children in the age-group two to 14 years. Witnessing a growth of 25 to 40 percent last year, the brand hopes to achieve the same from the forthcoming season.

Bottom wear for girls in the pipeline

Lil Tomatoes’ core product is top wear. The range includes sweat shirts, capris, shorts, jackets, T-shirts, tops and track suits. “We have reversible and polyfill jackets. Jackets have jacquards. Sweat shirts have cut and sew, prints, embroidery. We will introduce the girls’ bottom wear by summer 2016. We will have capris, jeggings, full pants, skirts and may be denims at a later stage,” says Sanjay Goel, Managing Director, Lil Tomatoes, elaborating on the product line.

In the brand’s line-up for the season, trends in jacquards and floral prints are followed. “We are bringing adult fashion for children. Our sweat shirts can be used as sweat shirts as well as jackets. Our track suits have layering and jackets can be worn over T-shirts,” informs Goel. Jacket fabrics are felt, tweed and some imported fabrics and colours in use are fluorescent and bright like turquoise, green and orange.

Business driven by MBOs

The brand is based in north India and offers fashion at a reasonable price. The collections are retailed through MBOs and large formats. “We are in 150 MBOs and will add 100 more. We also have seven EBOs and the range is available in large formats like C&M. We are online with Jabong and Snapdeal. We are getting a good response from the online channel but the biggest business share comes from MBOs.
