Established in 1999, Lil Tomatoes, the brand from Gunno Group is crafted for kids aged from two to 14 years. The brand recently added night suits for kids to its elaborate range of products for the little ones. “Now, we plan to introduce a new line of bottom wear for girls, which should be launched by the end of this year,” informs Sanjay Goel, Director.

Gunno Group, a fully integrated and well-equipped company has complete in-house facilities such as knitting, dying, processing, designing and garment manufacturing. On the company’s agenda is the spread of Lil Tomatoes’ footprint into unexplored regions.

Evolving wardrobe for little ones

Over the last 15 years, the brand is constantly evolved and added many new products for kids in its basket. The product line consists of options for boys and girls like T-shirts, tops, Bermuda, capris, shirts, denims and night suits. The target audience is the upwardly mobile professionals, who as per Goel are not only aspirational but also brand conscious.

“Our recent addition to the portfolio is night suits, rest of the products are the same. We use fabrics like net, georgette, poplin and hosiery materials for our creations. For summer, we have prints and sublimation clothing on offer. We also do denims but it is not a major area of production. It is just a part of our product portfolio. Denims hold a lot of potential and is largely untapped in kids’ segment,” opines Goel.

Building presence in MP and Jharkhand

Currently, Lil Tomatoes is available through 100 MBOs and eight EBOs, out of which, three are company-owned and five are operated by franchisees. The products are also with almost all major large format stores.

With a total production capacity of three lakh pieces per year, the company aims to establish its footprint in untapped states. Talking about their retail expansion plans, Goel says, “The presence is good in northern region. Now, we are planning to expand our retail network in MP and Jharkhand. This year, we have set a target of adding at least 100 MBOs. The expectations are to report at least 20 to 25 percent growth on a yearly basis.”
