Malaysian kids’ brand Poney enters India

Malaysian kids wear brand Poney has partnered with integrated franchise solution company Franchise India to expand its retail presence. Through this partnership, Poney has signed a master franchise agreement with Delhi-based Ajanta International Group. “Ajanta has aggressive plans to develop and expand the Poney brand in the country which will see the opening of multiple exclusive brand outlets and shop-in-shops across metros and Tier I cities in the country in the first five years," says a company statement.

Ajanta International Head Rajat Kapoor added, “We believe kids’ wear is going to become the hottest fashion segment in the coming years. With the kind of price points and positioning that Poney enjoys, we can make this a scalable and popular business model in India.”

Poney Group is a leading retailer in Malaysia, specialising in a wide range of comfortable and fashionable products for kids. Founded in 1992 by Albert Tan and his wife Sharon Ng, the company houses three well-known brands: Poney, Baby Poney and Poney Enfants. These brands offer high quality apparels and accessories for newborns, toddlers and kids up to 12 years old.
