Shantanu & Nikhil to launch menswear store in Kolkata

Designer-duo Shantanu & Nikhil, popularly known for blending tradition with modern day concepts in their collections, will be opening doors to a menswear store in Kolkata this October. Launched in 2000, the Shantanu & Nikhil label has now chalked out expansion plans for the same. The duo already has stores in cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
Their designs have dressed Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and A R Rahman. The aims behind launching a store in Kolkata was because men from the city have a keen sense of design and also because they feel that menswear market is growing rapidly creating opportunities for everyone to grow.
Their latest collection ‘The Mahal’ for prospective brides and grooms, which was showcased at wedding exhibition ‘The Vogue Wedding Show’ is inspired by their recently visit to Sheesh Mahal in Jodhpur. The same collection will also be displayed at the ongoing BMW India Bridal Fashion Week.
