Shoppers Stop opens a new store in Kolkata

Shoppers Stop inaugurated its new store at Acropolis mall in Kolkata recently. Tollywood actress Raima Sen was present during the inauguration of the store. It is the fifth store launched by Shoppers Stop in Kolkata.

The company has also partnered with wallet services provider FreeCharge, a part of ecommerce firm Snapdeal. As part of the partnership, Shoppers Stop's customers will have the option to use their FreeCharge wallet to make payments across all Shoppers Stop stores in the country as well as on the webstore Shoppersstop.com.

Consumers can also take advantage of the service while shopping at Shoppers Stop group companies including 17 outlets of HyperCity, 95 stores of Crossword and 19 stores of HomeStop across India.

The development comes after Shoppers Stop recently announced its partnership with Snapdeal to sell its products online as a part of its omni-channel strategy. Exclusive Shoppers Stop store on the Snapdeal platform will offer brands and products across fashion categories such as apparel, footwear and accessories. The company would first test-market its new initiative in North India and then extend it gradually to other regions over the next 12 months.
