In a bid to woo customers, Shoppers Stop has decided to launch home delivery service around the end-of-sale season at select stores, so that buyers don’t have to wait in a long queue. The service has been planned after the retailer realized that often consumers pick up products but sighting long queues for billing, they drop the bags and walk out without their purchase. Now the customer can write their address details on the shopping bags and also pay for it once delivered at their doorstep.

The company feels during the sale period, the percentage of people dropping their shopping bags owing to long queues can go up to 4 to 6 percent and the bags may also contain several products so the plan is to recover at least half those bags, which in turn could boost sales.

Another feature, it plans to add is Wi-Fi facility in its outlets to help customers shop online while they are at the store. The efforts are being made by almost all the apparel retailers at a time when consumers seem to drifting towards online sales and shopping.
