Snapdeal ties up with India Post to boost Varanasi weavers

Snapdeal has partnered with India Post to bring works of thousands of weavers and artisans from Varanasi on its web platform. Snapdeal has launched a pilot with India Post to set-up facilitation desks at Varanasi post offices to enable local weavers to sell on its platform.

Post offices will act as a dropping point for sellers, and India Post will deliver the goods to the buyers. The company also plans to set up an 'India Post' store to feature the associated sellers exclusively and also share its expertise in fashion and marketing with weavers to help them create designs and products, which will appeal to the customers across the country.

Earlier, the Karnataka government had partnered Snapdeal to set up a platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in the state to sell their goods.
