Spark Kids eyes aggressive overseas expansion

A leading manufacturer and exporter of kids’ wear from Central India, Spark Kids is a trusted name among consumers in metros and other cities and in the Gulf and Far Eastern countries. The company is planning major expansion in overseas markets like Europe and US.

Spark promoted by Manubhai Shah started in 1983. Now, his sons Bharat and Rajesh Shah are leading the brand successfully to new heights. “Every Spark garment that’s picked up anywhere in the world, meets the high standards of comfort and care. We use the best materials, finest processes and latest in fashion, for our products,” say the duo.

Winter-ready smart range for kids

Winter 2015 collection brings fresh trends with lot of value additions to the garment in terms of accessories, embellishments, and fabric. “This season’s trend is shifting to combinations of sequins and screen. So, one would find on our T-shirts: guitars, dragons, flying birds, wings and characters in different colour sequins in front and foils, flock prints in the background. These are complimented by metal accessories like stars, domes and studs,” explain Bharat and Rajesh Shah.

Then there are evergreen themes of smart, casual and adventurous clothing in bright colours like green, red, orange and yellow. While different appliqués, embroidery, PVC free screen, patch work add vivid and captivating look, motifs, icons of activities and sports equipments give the garment that sporty and casual image.

Catering to the needs of 14 years, the brand offers fashion and basic T-shirts, cargos, trousers, and lowers as separates. Its portfolio also includes infant sets, trouser sets, textile sets, denim sets and three piece sets. “Though kids are the end customers, parents are major influencers in buying process. They always like to have all the options available during purchase. This makes it important to provide variety under one umbrella,” assert Shah.

A strong market presence

Spark enjoys strong presence in metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The collection is present in approximately 250 MBOs and large format stores. It also has good market share in smaller cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Udaipur, Kanpur, Jaipur, Cochin, Coimbatore and Calicut.

“Spark has also made inroads in the fiercely competitive UAE market and other countries of the Gulf. Spark is present in large format stores in the Middle East. Now, Spark is on the verge of foraying into European and American markets,” sum up Shah brothers.
