Start-ups ready wide range of intimate products for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the day is no longer about red roses, greeting cards and teddy bear gifts. Today’s generation has moved a step ahead with e-commerce fulfilling their desire of getting an intimate gift for their partner. Various lingerie and intimate gift start-ups are ready with special options for the day. From Pune-based Bhupendra Jagtap’s PrivyPleasures.com to ThatsPersonal.com, Bliss-Basket.com and Kaamastra.com, platforms have stocked a wide range consisting of edible lingerie, body paint, dice games, body jewellery and other intimate products.
While these players are looking at cashing-in on V Day fever, Mayur Masrani, IT professional-turned-entrepreneur’s Bliss-Basket.com started in January last year has seen monthly average sales rise from 50 to 700. Now he is anticipating the platform to fetch 450 orders merely during the first fortnight of February. ThatsPersonal.com, started by Microsoft ex-executive Samir Saraiya in January 2013, receives almost 15,000 daily visitors, out of which 3 percent get converted into actual orders. With a vast collection of edible body paint, adult games, massage candles, X on the lips gloss and bath bombs in the price-range of Rs 1,500 and Rs 3,000, the company expects a quick rise in sales with an average ticket size of around Rs 2,700 around Valentine’s Day.
Witnessing higher sales driven by rural towns, where women buy lingerie and men condoms and lubricants online, Rahber Nazir, founder of Kaamastra.com, plans to woo customers with a wide range of lingerie, role play costumes, accessories and body jewellery etc. Platforms also paying keen attention on selling branded products.
