UK-based high-street fashion label Superdry, brought to India by Reliance Brands in October 2012, now has 13 stores across the country and six in Mumbai. Its sixth Mumbai store at Juhu, Mumbai is also its biggest one in India. The company has plans to expand its footprint to more cities and the next store is slated to open in Hyderabad this year.

The Juhu store is spread across 2,700 square foot. exudes vintage inspired look and feel, having natural French Oak wooden panel detailing and rustic iron display and oversized rustic tables along with imported 20 ft. long Jam jar lights, which hang down from the ceiling forming the centrepiece of the store. The store has on offer A/W15 collection of the brand. The inauguration saw Superdry collaborate with Submerge with performances by DJ’s Nina Shah, Malika Haydon and Rahul Chhabb.

Superdry is betting big on India, its first entry in any BRIC market. Inspired by vintage styling and Japanese graphics, the brand has been growing aggressively internationally with presence across mainland Europe, US and some parts of the Middle East. James Holder, Founder of Superdry says they have come to India before China, Brazil and Russia because of the cultural fit that this market offers them. In fact, they have signed the longest agreement with any partner so far in India which shows their commitment to this market.

Reliance Brands, which retails an array of international labels including Ermenegildo Zegna, Diesel, Quiksilver, Kenneth Cole and Brooks Brothers among several others, has signed a 20-year licensing deal with the British fashion brand.
