Urban Tailor, a professional tailoring service for women launched

Vasudevan Thrikkazhipuram, Lavanya Venkatraman and Ashish Singhal have come together to launch a professional tailoring service for women called Urban Tailor. The platform promises to offer complete tailoring services to the customer’s doorstep. While the company also offers to pick a perfectly fitting garment for measurement purpose, the platform also has a simple-to-use online design and customization tool which ensures measurement, styling, and fitting.

With the service currently available only in Bangalore, Urban Tailor delivers a stitched garment as per the measurements to the customer in 10 days. The cost of a basic stitching service starts at Rs 500. Vasudevan is a serial entrepreneur and had earlier founded Coatom which later shut shop. He has over 15 years of experience and was the marketing and product development head at Simplilearn.

The readymade garment industry, offline and online seems to have come a full-circle from tailormade – readymade to customised clothing. From leading textile companies, brands to e-retailers – all are now offering customized clothing services to woo those customers, who are still stuck to the idea of wearing perfectly fitting ensembles.
