Vinayak Couture, by mother-son duo Asha and Gautam Gupta, has opened a new flagship in New Delhi’s Defence Colony. Offering the latest in bridal couture, the store layout reflects an ethnic yet majestic look. The in store range includes lehengas and saris made of exclusive handloom weaves and textures along with a unique line of fusion wear.
Asha Gupta is renowned for her bespoke bridal couture. Established in 1998, her label Vinayak Couture has garnered much appreciation with a loyal client base. A self-taught designer, she has a strong passion for creativity and India’s rich tradition of designs and craftsmanship has earned a respectable name in the fashion industry. In 2003, she was joined by her son designer Gautam Gupta, a NIFT-Delhi alumni followed his mother’s dream to keep traditional Indian couture alive. He took the brand forward by reinventing traditional weaves and experimenting with new textures.
Vinayak Couture endorses the revival of vintage art and indigenous craftsmanship from across India. Asha and Gautam Gupta strive to associate with various creative weavers and craftsmen at the grass root level. Innovating and experimenting with handlooms such as bandhanis , chanderis , Banarasi , Uppadas , Patolas and embroideries such as Petit Point, Gara Parsi , gota , Mukesh and zardozi in their collections, the duo is attempting to retain the vibrant and traditional artistry of India.
