Vero Moda, which operates in India through Bestseller India, has launched a Marilyn Monroe capsule collection to mark 100 years since the actress's birth. The collection became available in India from September 1, 2026, and reimagines Monroe's image for a new generation of shoppers.
Vero Moda describes the range as fashion-forward yet nostalgic, blending its own aesthetic with Monroe's visual identity. Her portraits, signature and kiss mark motif recur throughout the pieces.
The core assortment includes dresses, graphic t-shirts and sweatshirts featuring portrait graphics and pop-art-inspired artwork, alongside polka dots, pearl embellishments and rhinestone details. A denim capsule combines vintage-inspired washes with ruffles and modern silhouettes, while the accessories line includes caps carrying Monroe's kiss mark and autograph.
The collection was available exclusively through the Vero Moda app for the first 48 hours after launch, before rolling out to Vero Moda stores, the brand's website and Myntra across India.
Vero Moda positions the collection within its broader design philosophy, describing its collections as versatile and built to celebrate individuality and confidence, qualities the brand links to Monroe's own image.
Vero Moda was launched in 1987 as the first fashion label of Danish group Bestseller, and has grown into one of Europe's best known high-street brands. In India, where it launched in 2010, Vero Moda operates 75 exclusive outlets and more than 326 shop-in-shops, alongside its app, website and online marketplaces, according to the company.
Monroe appeared in 29 films during her career and won a Golden Globe for 'Some Like It Hot'. Described by Vero Moda as a trailblazer who pursued her own path at a time when few such paths were open to women, she also founded her own production company, Marilyn Monroe Productions, which gave her more control over her image and pushed back against the Hollywood studio system. Licensing partnerships with fashion and consumer brands, alongside an extensive merchandising programme, continue to sustain her status as a global icon.
