Adidas Originals partnered Mary Katrantzou for a second line of atheleisure wear, which has been launched in India. The collection includes printed tennis-inspired clothes and accessories like 80s bomber jackets, pleated skirts in pastel shades, which would now be retailed through Adidas Originals stores across India.
The Spring/Summer collection inspired by the 80’s is adorned with a lot of abstract collages of figurative motifs. The vibrant prints on the merchandise are also collages of sports gear in action like a stopwatch, a tennis racket and a badminton shuttlecock. Even the footwear range for the season has been expanded bringing fresh perspectives to the line.
The sports/lifestyle brand has applied with Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) to open stores under single-brand retail FDI. With about 750 stores in India, it will look at further developing and growing the brand in the country.
