ASFT’s fashion design competition celebrates Indian fashion

Amity School of Fashion Technology (ASFT) organized the annual fashion show competition earlier this month to provide an exclusive platform to its students. This year’s show was organized on a larger scale titled ‘An Evening with Fashion’. The event saw several activities like inter-institute fashion design competition, presentations of design collections by design students of ASFT, the brand collection by Ilakshi and kids’ wear collection by ASFT students.

The inter-college fashion design competition saw eight leading fashion institutes participating with their collections based on the theme of ‘Incredible Indian Fashion – Ethnic Elegance’. The participating institutes included G.D. Goenka University, JD Institute of Fashion Technology; FDDI, Pearl Academy of Fashion (Noida); Institute of Fine Arts; IMS-DIA, Institute of Home Economics & Daulat Ram College.

The first prize was awarded to Institute of Home Economics, while G.D. Goenka University and Pearl Academy of Fashion (Noida) received the second and third prizes. The competition was judged by renowned personalities like Rajeev Bansal, Managing Director, Celestial Knits & Fabs, Gunjan Arora, Fashion Designer, Camy Ahluwalia, Brand Manager, Uni Style Images, Kusum Chopra, Ex-Chairperson, Fashion Design Dept, NIFT, Delhi and Sumit Saurabh, Fashion Designer. The Chief Guests were Aamer Zakir, renowned stylist, entrepreneur, columnist makeover & grooming expert and Gaurav Gupta, renowned fashion designer.
