Askme to co-sponsor Lakme Fashion Week

After Amazon bagging the rights to be the official sponsor for FDCI’s India Fashion Week, online platform Askme has partnered with forthcoming Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) as its co-sponsor. The company’s online platform Askmeonfashion.com would bring experts’ opinion and advice on fashion, discussions, ideas and trends shared by the common people. The 15th anniversary edition of LFW Summer/Resort 2015 will be held from March 18 to 22, 2015 in Mumbai, with Lakme as the title sponsor and another leading fashion portal, Jabong as the main sponsor.

With fashion emerging as the key category driving high margins, online as well as offline retailers are innovating to cash in on the opportunity. This is not the first time that an online player is associated with the fashion event. Even Delhi-based Snapdeal is an associate sponsor of the Bangalore Fashion Week. Even emerging and leading fashion designers have found ecommerce as a lucrative medium to reach out to a large number of customers with their exclusive web-only collections at affordable prices.
