Bombay Shirt Company, online custom shirt brand, unveiled
the first capsule collection for women, conceptualized and designed by
fusion-wear designer, Payal Singhal. The company hosted an event to
announce the launch of women’s shirts, on March 4, 2015 at the brand’s
flagship store in Kala Ghoda.
On the occasion, Akshay Narvekar, Founder of Bombay Shirt Company announced that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each of the capsule collections, will be donated to a charity of collaborator’s choice. Singhal has chosen NGO ‘Akanksha’, which provides education to children from low-income backgrounds.
Bombayshirt.com launched in August 2012 by Akshay Narvekar had started its journey with just three people, with stylists personally visiting customers’ homes along with swatches of fabric, and mall kiosks serving as points to help people customise their shirts. After opening a flagship at Kala Ghoda, in Mumbai the company aims to expand its offline presence, apart from expanding the product categories on offer.
