Falguni & Shane Peacock honoured with ‘Bharat Samman’

Internationally renowned Indian designer duo Shane and Falguni Peacock, have been honoured with the ‘Bharat Samman Award for 2014’, constituted by the NRI Institute almost 27 years ago. The Bharat Samman Awards are conferred upon a select group of people of Indian origin for outstanding achievements in their field of activities. This is the first time that the NRI Institute has given an award to fashion designers for their work.

The duo recently bagged the prestigious ‘World Designer Fashion Award’ at the 64th edition of the Miss World beauty pageant. The duo’s creation featuring a fitted gown with a thigh-high slit was flaunted worn by the Indian beauty queen and one of the 125 contestants of the pageant, Koyal Rana.

The duo has opened their first exclusive store in Los Angeles, USA. Another place, where they want to open a shop is Madison Avenue in New York. After designing for international celebrities like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Katy Perry and Fergie, Shane and Falguni Peacock are popular designers among the international fashion circuit.
