First edition Liva Protégé 2015 finds its winners

Ahmedabad’s Riturana Deori emerged as the winner of the Liva Protégé 2015, a national level designer hunt. This unique talent hunt, an annual feature, covered 12 cities, 50 top fashion institutes and over a hundred students. The aim of Liva Protégé is to recognise India’s future stars in the field of fashion. The competition was open to final year students, who get the opportunity to showcase their talent as well as get mentored by some of the big names in the fashion world.
The winner gets to work either with the in-house team of fashion site of Aditya Birla Group called ABOF (All About Fashion).com or an opportunity to sell upto five designs on the website abof.com. A cash prize of Rs 2,00,000 is also awarded. The first runner up gets to sell three designs on the website as well as a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000. The second runner up gets cash prize of Rs 50,000. The first runner up was Nitin Gupta from Ahmedabad while Sagarika Joshi from Bangalore was the third runner up.
The first edition Live Protégé 2015, celebrated upcoming trends and styles, which recognised innovations on a national scale. The finalists came from leading fashion institutes such as NIFT, Pearl, NID, B D Somani and Raffles. Their creations were showcased at a fashion show.
Liva Protégé is powered by a new age fabric, Liva, which has been designed to infused fluidity to the garments. Manohar Samuel, President, Marketing believes that the Indian ‘fashion landscape is extremely dynamic..Liva Protégé is our endeavour to bridge the gap and reach the budding fashion designer fraternity’.
