Gaurav Gupta designs for Jabong

Fashion designer Gaurav Gupta has created an exclusive collection for e-commerce platform Jabong. With most fashion driven e-commerce companies partnering designers to offer affordable range, Jabong too has signed up Gupta to grab a pie of this growth market.

Gaurav Gupta Tribe for Jabong is created inspired by the designer's signature runway pieces, including the draped sari and 3D embellishment detailing. The draped saris have Greek pleating, brooches on the shoulder and are paired with stylish blouses. With these designs, Gupta has not only blended the traditional silhouettes like anarkali and lehenga with a modern twist but it will also help him expand his audience base through online medium.

Though Jabong was planning to list on a bourse in the US or Europe, it might explore options in India as well. The fashion retailer is putting the processes and systems in place for a listing. Jabong, which started operations in 2012, houses more than 1,000 brands and generates annual sales of 300 million dollars (Rs 1,804.3 crores).
