It fetched as much as Rs 1.21 crore through a bid placed by Rajesh Juneja. The amount would be contributed towards charity.

Earlier, Surat-based businessmen Suresh Agarwal and Rajubhai Agarwal made a bid of Rs 1 crore and Rs 51 lakh followed by which NRI Viral Chouksey quoted a bid price of Rs 1.11 crore for the suit. The suit was auctioned along with 455 other things that Modi had received as gifts during his nine-month long tenure as the Prime Minister to generate funds for the Prime Minister's 'Clean India Mission'.

Before becoming the Prime Minister of India, Modi served as the chief minister of Gujarat and had initiated a trend of auctioning the gifts he received to donate the amount earned towards Kanya Kelavani Yojna for girl child education.
