New-York-based Indian designer Naeem Khan has launched his spring 2016 collection having colorful ball gowns with voluminous skirts. The new line is inspired by the sun-drenched gardens in the south of France, as well as the azure waters of Capri and the soft palette of the French impressionists.

His range also includes embroidered caftans, jumpsuits in rainbow colours, fringed cocktail dresses and a paisley-embroidered coat with jewelled cuff over a matching romper. However his gowns in bright shades of bougainvillea red, embroidered lemon yellow or pink satin with a crystal halter necklace, heavily embellished with intricate beading and basket-weave sequins that are USP of his ensembles.

Khan presented his first collection at Olympus Fashion Week in 2005. His work is ornate, intricately detailed, and best known for red-carpet gowns employing handmade fabrics. The label is retailed in more than 200 stores, including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. His designs have been worn by celebrities including Beyoncé, Carrie Underwood, Eva Longoria, Leighton Meester, and Brooke Shields and even Michelle Obama.
