‘Namo India’ kicks off to generate employment in rural areas

The BJP has announced the launch of ‘Namo India-Fashion with Nation’ as part of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Made in India’ initiative to generate employment among the educated unemployed youth in the country. According to Co-convenor, National Trade & Industries, and in-charge of the North East, Sanjay Jha, the aim behind this project is to engage unemployed youth of this country in building the Indian economy. The project is also expected to promote the small scale industries in rural areas.

The ‘Namo India-Fashion with Nation’ was launched in Guwahati on December 3 and in Itanagar on December 15, 2013. In Nagaland, the Namo store will be launched before January 14, 2015. It would promote indigenous products and attires from the North East, which would be showcased in other parts of the country. On December 25, coinciding with the birthday of senior BJP leader and former Prime Minister, AB Vajpayee, the Namo project would unveils a unique scheme wherein a person buying products worth Rs 1,500 or more from a Namo store would get an accident insurance cover worth Rs one Lakh.

After completion of the 100 days at the centre, Narendra Modi-led NDA government has launched a new initiative to promote domestically manufactured products and attract investments. ‘Make in India’ campaign covering 25 sectors, including the textile and garment industry, was unveiled by the Prime Minister in the presence of industrialists and biggies from the corporate world of India and abroad at a ceremony in New Delhi.
