Kids’ wear brand ‘Pinkcow’ plans to roll out a special collection for children between 6 to 14 years. The brand is targeting the launch for September this year, just ahead of the festival season. “We will also start a new segment of dresses for moms and babies soon. We already got many clients asking for it,” says Pratima Anand, Proprietor of the brand.

Special kids’s collection in the offing

Elaborating on their plans, Anand explains, “This new kids’ collection is a celebration of colours and textures. For me, flowers and children are inseparable. I find them speaking the same language as all my collections always have flowers in one form or the other. This collection is special for me because my strength as a designer is draping. And in this collection I have done some interesting drapes. People will find it difficult to understand how one fabric has blended into another.” The collection has lace georgette crepes, satin raw silk net.

The whole idea is to create an expanse of textures blended into showcase artistic skills. All garments are completely lined with cotton. Extra care is taken to provide comfort in the garments. The colours are a wide range from cream to pink and all colours in between. Moreover, all accessories for each garment are made in-house.

Targeting big bang growth

Hoping to achieve 150 percent growth post its show at the India Kids Fashion Week, Anand said, “Last year, the growth was 100 percent. This year, we hope to achieve at least 150 percent growth. We already have 15 MBOs and are looking at the opening standalone stores in the coming years. The growth graph of Pinkcow has been enormous. We are treading carefully along with expansion.”

Not neglecting the prospects of online business, Anand says, “Pinkcow is present online as we also deal with a lot of NRIs. In fact, we have more NRIs than domestic customers and we will be working more through online retail. We have our own website and sell through other websites as well.”
