Rajesh Pratap Singh to showcase at Victoria and Albert Museum

Designer Rajesh Pratap Singh is successfully walking the international paths. From being appointed the first Woolmark Ambassador of India in January 2013 to showcasing his work at international fashion weeks as well as high street locations. Singh would now be showcasing some of his creations at an exhibition titled 'The Fabric of India' at The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London.

The first of its kind extensive exhibition at the V&A museum will explore the rich traditional handmade textiles from India. His creations are now a part of their permanent textile archive. The exhibition, which will be held from September 26, 2015 to January 10, 2016, will showcase two of his jackets - The Gamchcha jacket and the Ajrakh jacket.

Singh recently unveiled his first capsule collection comprising of 35 designs in scarves and stoles, using luxurious fibres like premium wool and merino cashmere. Making use of basic jamavar , he twisted jamavar motifs to present them in a modern day sensibilities to attract the young. The designs are dominated with heads, patchwork, jungle and birds.
