Rina Dhaka to design for plus size women

After dressing global names like Naomi Campbell and Uma Thurman among others, fashion designer Rina Dhaka now aims to create designs for plus size women. She believes that with time, preferences change, so the zero-size or skinny models could soon be a passé.

Dhaka presented her latest bridal collection at the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week in New Delhi with Shamitabh actress Akshara Haasan as her muse. Dhaka’s show was influences of floral beauty and Akshara looked stunning in the designer’s beautiful creation in creamy pink. Her dresses showcased on the ramp were a perfect blend of lace, sequins, some of which created by Swarovski and 3D effect infused in silk chiffon flowers. The models went all floral to represent the theme of romance.

Rina Dhaka has her collections, under the label 'Rina Dhaka', in stores like Carma in Delhi, Design Studio and Kimaya in Mumbai, Selfridges - London, Coin - Italy and Lord and Taylor in New York. She has also opened a studio in Hauz Khaz village.
