Sabyasachi to kick-start LFW with an offsite show

Globally acclaimed designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee will open the Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) Summer-Resort 2015, hosting an offsite show. This season of the extravaganza celebrates the 15 years of being the successful and premier fashion trade platform.

Sabyasachi had first presented his collection at LFW way back in 2002 and he is also a member on the Advisory Board of LFW. The forthcoming five-day event starts on March 18 at Palladium Hotel in Mumbai but Mukherjee’s offsite show will take place March 17.

Apart from top Bollywood celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Deepika Padukone and Vidya Balan , even global divas like Oprah Winfrey and Naomi Campbell, and other A-Listers have flaunted saris designed by him. His collections have won awards and favourable reviews from commentators. After showing several seasons at Milan, New York and London fashion weeks, Mukherjee spread his business - eponymous collections of distinctly Indian fashions - from a global to the local Indian market.
