Having made a mark in men’s fabrics, Sangam (India), the leading textile conglomerate, has forayed into women’s branded apparel segment with ‘Channel Nine’.

In its attempt to transform modern woman’s dressing, the company has introduced an innovative, first-of-its-kind ‘seamless experience’ in women’s intimate, active and casual wear, which is high on comfort, fit, quality and style. Present at the launch were: S N Modani, Managing Director, V K Sodani, Executive Director and Pranal Modani, Chief-Business Development, amongst others. Talking about the range, Pranal Modani said, “Channel Nine symbolises the multiple facets of a woman’s life. The spaces she navigates everyday and the forms in which she expresses herself. It encompasses the essence of what it means to be a woman through a myriad of roles, which she performs, in her everyday life.” The brand aspires to establish a new outlook towards intimate wear, active wear and casual wear so that it blends seamlessly with women’s lifestyles, while meeting their aspirations in terms of range, colour and style. As Modani pointed out the brand is designed to provide today’s woman ultimate freedom of movement, comfort, fit and enhance her fashion quotient.

Seamless attire, key to style and fit

Channel Nine presents an exquisite range of garments including intimate wear, active wear, yoga wear, shape wear, casual wear, outwear. The garments are seamless and designed to meet the aspirations of women in terms of design, fit, quality and style in line with international trends and standards. It aims to set women free from uncomfortable side seams giving them freedom of movement.

The range of intimate wear from Channel Nine provides the perfect balance of comfort, fit and style. With soft and moisture-resistant fabric, it leaves the user feeling fresh throughout the day. The active wear range perfectly matches her fast-paced lifestyle. Spreading a pan India retail footprint

The brand will be available pan India through the group’s vast distribution network including national retail chains, MBOs, EBOs and online platforms including its own website channelnine.in , wherein it aims to provide world-class shopping experience, product advice and engaging relationship with the consumer.

S N Modani adds, “We are in the process of achieving manufacturing volumes of 3.6 million units. Our capacity expansion plans have become a reality and propelled us to foray into new product segments. Through Channel Nine, we intend to make aggressive inroads into the domestic lingerie retail market estimated at approximately Rs 15,000 crores and growing at a CAGR of 20-25 per cent. We shall leverage ‘Make in India’ initiative to target sales from international markets through exports.” And Sodani goes on to add, “Seamless garment technology eliminates the process of fabric laying, cutting and sewing. By eliminating the cutting and sewing process, it provides an opportunity to save time and provide garments that are preferable for durability and functionality. The company has installed 36 circular knitting machines imported from Italy and has an installed capacity of 10,000 pieces of seamless garment a day.”
