Second edition of India Fashion Week held in Dubai

The second edition of biannual event India Fashion Week Dubai (IFWD) was held at Le Meridien in Dubai where top designers like Rocky S, Vikram Phadnis, Archana Kochhar, Rakesh Agarwal, Neerus, Libas and others presented their latest designer offerings.

Designer Archana Kochhar showcased her couture bridal collection titled ‘Mélange’, wherein Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly walked the ramp as the showstopper. She walked down the ramp flaunting mint blue mermaid gown with gold metal work and sprinkled with gold Swarovski dust. The range also had gown saris, keyhole anarkalis , flaring gowns, layered lehengas and short embroidered dresses.

Shades like ice blue, coral orange and pink, gold and hues of black dominated the designs looked fabulous blending with handmade textured raw silk, flat chiffon and georgette with surface embellishments like mirror embroideries, beaten gold and ivory thread work, metal work and Swarovski highlights.

An exclusive exhibition was held at the Designers Lounge, Jumeirah on the June 14 and 15. The finale day saw an awards ceremony to celebrate and honour the designers to acknowledge their contribution towards the Indian Fashion Industry. Organized by Ministry of Events and Dream Advertising, IFWD was quite a memorable affair.
