Shweta Bathija unveils high-end footwear line

Designer Shweta Bathija has launched a footwear line called 'Baha' for online customers. What’s unique about her range is, she customises attires to suit the footwear. Her first line of high-end footwear ‘Baha Souk at The Residency’ is inspired by the vibrant colours of the traditional Indian markets.

An MBA from Symbiosis, before launching her exquisite collection, Bathija did intensive course in footwear fashion designing at the London College of Fashion. But she infused her Indian inspirations in her designs that wowed her mentors. She continues to create footwear that is a blend of western fashion with Indian fabric. So the range consists of sleek stilettos, flat cut shoes and wedges made of raw silk, satin, velvet and suede leather. Some of them feature mixed fabric too. For instance, a stiletto model is made with red velvet and brocade. Then there are smart dark green suede leather boots called 'Anklebootie', donning golden zippers. The delicate 'Black Lace Chantilly', pitch black stilettos with lace work, look royal yet feminine.

The collection does not just features stilettos and high heels but also wedges and flats. Though she loves vibrant shades, her line has a perfect combination of bold and sober colours at the same time. She has used sober colours on high heels and loud colours for flats.
