Sunayna/Rozella an active player in the winter wear space has developed a substantial range of light weight sweaters for this winter. The brand has also added multi-coloured combinations in its basket to cater to the needs of fashionistas.

Comfort is of prime importance

Pankaj Bharati, Director of the brand, says the brand’s latest collection has vibrant colours, excellent fabrics and a variety of designs. “We have changed the yarn and designs this year keeping in view the growing trend among young customers. We continuously experiment with colours to meet the demand of fashion seekers,” he stressed. As far as latest trend of light weight sweaters are concerned, Bharati says, “Our brand always remains ready to cater to the demands of clients. Their comfort is of prime importance to us. Hence, we have used Lycra, acrylic besides wool and nylon to make our products more comfortable.” The brand has a strong presence in north Indian states where it enjoys a dominant position.

Bright colours lure customers

Bharati says colours have always dominated the fashion industry and these days, bright colours are attracting people. “We have kept this in mind and brought out a vibrant collection which is full of all shining bright colours. As we make every kind of apparel in the winter wear segment, colours are strewn on the fabrics. With strong competition among various winter wear brands, perfection remains the key word,” Bharati points out.

Rising sales a booster

Even though the winter season has shrunk, demand for winter wear has increased. Increase in sale percentage and stiff competition among different brands indicate a growth in the segment. “Based on this, we expect a 15-20 percent rise in our business this year,” says Bharati.

The brand has a high-tech unit in Ludhiana which uses the latest technology available in the market. “We have taken into consideration the demand of customers and made advancements accordingly. We have introduced special knits in sweatshirts where Lycra is used. And have experienced a good response as shine is more in our products,” explains Bharati.

Bharati says even though global brands have made inroads in India, competition still remains centered around local players. “Almost all players are Ludhiana-based, therefore, new trends become known easily and fast. Big global players cater only to the premium segment. Hence, they do not give serious competition to domestic players,” he sums up.
