Swapnil Shinde features among ‘Project Runway’ designers

‘Project Runway’ is a reality show like competition that witnesses several designers competing to win 100,000 dollars (over Rs 66 lakh) to launch their own fashion line and present it at New York’s Fashion Week, among other things. Indian designer Swapnil Shinde is the first designer from the country to have made a mark at the 14th edition of the show.

Shinde had auditioned to be part of the Project Runway four times in the past but could succeed on the fifth time around. Shinde is already popular name in the Indian fashion design circuit. After completing his FYBA, Shinde completed his design degree at National Institute of Fashion Technology in Mumbai. He then went to Milan, Italy, to do a master’s degree course in fashion styling.

He is currently busy styling many Bollywood actresses like Shraddha Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Jacqueline Fernandez for films and advertising campaigns.
