Unnati Silks has bagged the permission to use of ‘Handloom Mark’ under the Handloom Mark Scheme of the Ministry of Textiles. The company has been associated with master weavers since last three decades and has been supplying original handloom products since 1980. Handloom Mark will now add credibility to its genuine handloom products.

Individual weavers, master weavers, apex and primary handloom weavers’ co- operative societies, handloom development corporations, handloom retailers and exporters can register to receive the Handloom Mark to confirm authenticity of their range.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘India Handloom Brand’ on August 7 while announcing the day as National Handloom Day, the government has also established a policy framework to promote e-marketing of handloom products through approved e-commerce entities, aiming to popularize the ‘India Handloom’ brand and boost sales of handloom products.

Unnati Silks has also got the Silk Mark label, a symbol of pure silk promoted by Silk Mark Organisation of India (SMOI), an initiative of Central Silk Board under the Ministry of Textiles.
