Zodiac spreads footprint across globe

Zodiac Clothing (ZCCL) made its big screen presence recently when it partnered Bollywood film ‘Dil Dhadkne Do’. The cast is seen sporting ‘Ibiza’ shirt from Zod! club wear and ‘Coronado’ vintage-washed, 100 percent linen shirt from Z3 in the film. The collection is now available across the company’s stores. ZCCL is a vertically integrated, trans-national company that controls the entire clothing chain from design, manufacturing, distribution to retail sales.

With a manufacturing base in India and UAE and sales offices across India, UK, Germany and the US, ZCCL is known for its three premium men's wear brands, each clearly positioned to address a specific target consumer. “Zodiac, for the classic yet contemporary male's corporate wardrobe, Zod! club wear for the trendy, fashionable male and Z3 for men who does not need to wear a tie to work,” explains Salman Noorani, Managing Director, ZCCL.

Making a mark across boundaries

All its brands are retailed across India through over 126 company-managed stores and over 1,300 MBOs. “Zodiac shirts have set quality benchmark in Indian clothing business for several decades. Apart from 126 company owned stores in India, it is now the only Indian men’s wear brand to be retailed at the prestigious Globus Store on Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland and Splash, Middle East. Zodiac shirts retail there alongside leading luxury brands such as Brioni, Armani, Zegna, Kiton, and Canali,” informs Noorani.

The company’s other brands Z3 and Zod! Are available in Hong Kong and South Africa with single store retailers. The products are also retailed through its own website Zodiaconline.com . “Business is growing steadily, however, we implement our strategy of strict non-discounting on this channel of retail as well,” explains Noorani, adding, “We have always been and continue to remain firm on growing our own COCO model of retail stores, partnering well run single store retailers and Shoppers Stop chain.

Smart shirts range for men

While Zod! is a trendy, fashionable brand that targets the socially active Indian male, with shirts having detailing on placket, cuffs & collars embellishments, Z3 shirts and chinos have a super soft hand feel, which is guaranteed by vintage wash and the use of premium cotton. All shirts come with removable collarbones and offer the choice to be worn smart or casual.

In shirts, Zodiac has comfort and slim fits, Zod! Only offers slim fit shirts and in Z3, the company has a smart fit shirt. Trousers come in comfort, smart and slim fits under Zodiac, whereas it makes slim and super skinny ties under Zod! “Our cufflinks, pochettes have always been preferred to any other in the market. Z3 has a full line of boxers and fashion socks. Our shirts are made only from superfine, long staple Egyptian cotton. In addition we have very high quality linen shirts too. Our suits and trousers come in luxurious 120s, 140s, 160s, 180s wool and 100 percent linen and cotton,” explains Noorani.
