Zoiro India recently unveiled a complete Zoiro men’s innerwear collection designed by Claudia Piatti and Paola Piatti of Italian Studio C-WORK-S. The special styles created by them were inspired by global trends adapted to the needs of Indian men. Surely it received an enthuse response. Some of the top selling collections that the duo has designed for Zoiro include: Denin, Trento, Lorenzo, Savio and Urbano.
The year-old brand is now looking at spreading its retail presence across the country. Navin Seksaria, Director, Zoiro India elaborates on the partnership with Italian designers and future plans for Zoiro, “We are targeting a business of Rs 250 crores in 2 years and looking for robust growth. The men’s innerwear industry is growing. In three years we expect to be leaders in this space. We want to be a brand of global standards.”
International appeal received well
Zoiro’s aim was to create a brand of global standards, right here in India and take it to the world. “Given the context of global trend coming to India and our own expertise, we thought we could combine both and create a brand of global standards. We searched for the right designers who could help us, give the complete flavor, technical support and back the whole project. We hired the best in the industry,” informs Seksaria.
Under its range, Zoiro has innerwear options for men under different concepts, like denim, party and so on. “We build a complete story around it and then deliver. We have briefs, trunks, vests and denim under wear. This has been a hot seller. All the four categories have equal share in our business. We also have a thermal line called Thermax. This has triple insulation and comes in unique Italian style and design. We will also add lounge wear, casual wear and personal grooming products,” he adds.
Expanding retail horizon to meet demand
Zoiro collection is available with 1,500 MBOs in India. By March 2015, the company will add 1,000 more MBOs. That will make it 2,500 MBOs. The brand is also at large format stores like Shoppers Stop and Central. “We are in 55 to 60 large formats. We have one EBO and that’s at Bangalore. We will have ten more EBOs by December 2015. Men are coming out and experimenting in large numbers. They want to try new styles. This drives the EBO concept. We are online on Myntra, Jabong and Flipkart,” avers Seksaria.
Launched in India last year Zoiro has seen robust growth so far. “Despite being a new brand, we have got acceptance all over the country. We have a family history of men’s inner wear hosiery. We have been following the industry for 15 to 20 years in India and globally. For the last decade there has been a shift in men’s inner wear globally. People started indulging in it. We see the same trend coming to India,” he sums up.
