Winter wear brand Lure from Ludhiana-based Sears Knit is looking forward to 11 to 20 percent growth this winter season. “Though the season is unlikely to benefit us, we are still expecting growth. Last year, the growth rate was in the range of 10 to 15 percent. Efforts are on to continue the journey towards south India,” says Vinay Aggarwal, Director, Sears Knit.
The brand has unveiled a range of sports jackets to woo young India. Also on the agenda is retail expansion through MBOs.
Sporty jackets for the young
Given the interest youngsters have in jackets, winter jackets at Lure are fully inspired by sports. “What makes jackets as a category different from others in the winter wear segments is that it is more exhaustive in its appearance and versatile in its approach. The sporty look is the trend this season,” informs Aggarwal.
Available in 50 designs and 30 shades, Lure’s jackets are attractive in their look while being comfortable and warm a must for protection against the cold season. Since the company makes products keeping in mind the upper-middle class, the jackets range begin at Rs 2,495 and goes up to Rs 3,995.
Increasing retail presence through MBOs
“At the moment, we are present through 300 MBOs in the country. More are in the pipeline. Last year, there was an increase of 10 percent, which means an addition of around 25 to 30 new MBOs. We are looking to increase this number and expand aggressively in the Northeast as this is the region which is still untapped. We see a lot of potential there. At the moment, most of our business comes from north India,” explains Aggarwal.
Incepted in Ludhiana in 1987, Sears Knit is recognized as a leading manufacturer and supplier of exclusive jackets and coats. Its extensive range of products include: cotton jackets, polyester jackets, twill jackets, winter jackets, fur jackets, nylon jackets, sherpa fabric jackets, pre winter jackets and heavy winter jackets among others.
